Cyclodextrin Chemistry

Cyclodextrins have a cyclic and bidimensional geometry. They are excellent candidates foe designing amphiphilic systems. Previously, we have show that a family of thioalkylated β-cyclodextrin derivatives could form thermotropic liquid crystals. We continued to explore in this area inorder to gain better understanding on the structural-property relationship of this family of compounds.
